Social Networking

Social networking (sometimes used interchangeably with “social media”) is part of Web 2.0′s interactive nature, where conversations take place between multiple people in various ways (one to one, one to many, many to one, many to many).

I’m big on social media…in fact, I realized a couple of months ago that I’ve been a Community Manager for a really long time. The difference is that my community is all technical communicators. I can point folks toward the best Help authoring tool for them (in other words, the one that best meets their needs), and I work really hard to maintain that objectivity. And while I know more about some tools than others, I don’t choose your preference for you…I let your needs dictate my recommendations.
