Going from New York City to Paris...

A friend sent me this "quick bit of fun":

  1. Go to google.com.
  2. Click Maps.
  3. On the top bar, click Get Directions.
  4. Enter New York in the left "from" field.
  5. Enter Paris in the right "to" field.

Check out step #23.

Yeah, it should have been written as different sections depending on the decision made by the traveller about their method of travel.

Newbie tech writers often leave things like this out because it can get complex and is difficult to think through.

Of course, one wonders why you'd look in Google maps for such directions unless you were unaware of the whole ocean thing or, perhaps, that there is a more famous Paris than the one you are looking for.

And, as a side note, I must say Google missed an advertising opportunity here ... hook up with an airline or shipping line or two ....

And, yeah, am just kidding. Grin.

Cheers.

I tried getting the Google directions for Aus to the US/vice versa, but unfortunately it seems there's a bit of a problem with the Pacific ...
